The first moped by the Austrian moped brand Puch appeared on the Dutch market n 1954. This was the classic MS50 which was called by the small gas tank affectionately known as Baby Puch. P>
Because of the low model the MS50 focused on female drivers, but in The Hague they thought otherwise as Puch was here unexpectedly popular with the "beatniks" and other art lovers. They applied the existing moped itself and turned it into a men's model. The Dutch importer played quickly on this by also providing the MS50 with the legendary high handlebars and "frog headlight. That was the beginning of the advance of Puch in the Netherlands. P>

Also in the seventies and eighties Puch remained popular with models like the MS50, MV50, Monza and obviously the Maxi. This type is known for its reliability, easy maintenance and economical driving. Especially in the oil crisis of 1973, this was an important reason to buy a Puch Maxi. Well kept versions have become collectors items! And since Puch was acquired by Piaggio (which always has honored the name) Puch mopeds have always been part of the Dutch streets. P>
